Bret C. Lewis, MD, FACOG

“I was originally drawn by the excitement, joy and parental gratitude associated with delivering babies. My decision was solidified when I saw the wide range of services including surgery, infertility and office practice. The gratitude of my patients is still my biggest reward. I really enjoy being able to improve my patients’ quality of life with minimally invasive surgery, robotic surgery and outpatient surgery so that their recovery is much faster. I hope to give my patients the confidence that I am committed to providing the best care with understanding and compassion to reduce their risks and improve the quality of their lives.”

Anissa Durairaj, MD, FACOG

“My first experience delivering a baby was as a medical student. I found the experience exhilarating and knew, at that moment, I wanted to specialize in ob-gyn. I enjoy the diversity and variety that ob-gyn presents. I also enjoy taking care of women and empowering them with knowledge – making sure they always have a good understanding of their condition and health. I am very kind and caring by nature and able to reassure my patients about their conditions and ease their fears and concerns.”

Lori Marshall, MD, FACOG

“ Practicing obstetrics and gynecology is my passion. It is such a diverse and exciting field of medicine and it is the most rewarding job I can imagine. After practicing for more than 10 years, I still believe my most important role as a doctor is to listen to my patients and focus on happiness and wellness. The best path to wellness is to combine healthy lifestyle practices and mindfulness with traditional therapies in partnership with patients. My hope is to provide a safe and compassionate environment in which patients feel cared for and respected.  ”

E.J. Aspuru, MD, FACOG

“When I was a medical student fulfilling my rotation in Ob-Gyn, I was up late one night and the supervising resident let me deliver my first baby. That first delivery was such a rush of excitement and felt like a little miracle unfolding in my arms. At that moment, I knew I wanted to deliver babies for the rest of my life. “I have two sisters with whom I am very close. I have always treated my patients as I would want my sisters to be treated. Now that I have a daughter and witnessed her birth, I treat my patients as I would like her treated when she becomes a woman. Being a good doctor doesn’t just involve finding a medically sound resolution to your medical problem. It involves really listening to you and understanding your concerns and fears.”

Jill T. Cierny, MD

One of the biggest joys of my job is helping patients through their lifetime range of reproductive needs. Each morning I look at my schedule and am excited to see my patients, with whom I value such relationships. I thrive off of the next problem or endeavor that will take me deeper into my relationships with these women. Because of this, I believe my biggest asset as a physician is not only my knowledge and expertise in clinical and surgical women’s healthcare, but also my bedside manner. Medically, I have special interests in contraception, infertility, high-risk obstetric problems, abnormal uterine bleeding, and minimally invasive surgery including the Da Vinci robot. In my spare time, I enjoy cooking, traveling, live music, and spending time with my husband and two young sons.

Nurse Practitioners

Garland S. Andres, MSN, FNP-BC, NP-C, IBCLC

“In some ways, we choose our careers. In other ways, our careers choose us. I grew up steeped in medicine: My stepfather is a pediatrician, my mother is a nurse practitioner and my sister is a nurse-midwife. I always wanted a career that allowed me to help people in an authentic and tangible way. When you find a profession that empowers you and those around you, it is exciting and compelling. What’s really exciting is when you can harness all the newest medical knowledge and deliver it to your patients in meaningful terms that impact their lives and well-being. Healthcare is more than procedures. It is demystifying medicine so that good health practices can be incorporated into real lives.”

Professional Memberships: National Association of Nurse Practitioners in Women’s Health, United Advanced Practice Registered Nurses of Georgia

Michelle K. Breen, NP-C

“I was born at Northside Hospital and grew up in the area. I come from a “medical family” and I knew from an early age I wanted to spend my life taking care of people. I became a labor and delivery nurse fresh out of college in 2014 and instantly loved the bonds and connections I made with my patients. It didn’t take me long to realize that I wanted more involvement in my patients’ health, so I started graduate school a year later. I love the women’s health field because it allows me to take care of patients young, old, and some throughout their lifetime. I think my favorite aspect of healthcare is educating, informing, and reassuring my patients, so they feel empowered and capable of living the healthiest life possible. My biggest goal as a nurse practitioner is to build a rapport with my patients so they can trust me and have confidence that they are receiving the best care!”

“ I have the most fun job ever! I get to introduce parents to their new babies for the first time. It is an amazing bonding experience. I am also a perfectionist with a background in perinatal sonography which helps me give each patient the best possible exam, along with confidence and reassurance. I am always professional, but relaxed and casual at the same time. I love being part of the diagnostic team for OB ultrasound, gynecologic studies and patient care. ”

Linda Green, RDMS

I love my job as an OB/Gyn sonographer working for Northside/Northpoint OB/Gyn. I strive to treat my patients and their families with kindness and respect. I love helping my patients to feel at ease, spending the time to educate each of my patients. It is wonderful to show parents their baby for our OB patients and to assist in improving the health of our gynecology patients.. I was a Respiratory Therapist in a Neonatal ICU when I decided to return to school to become an OB/Gyn Sonographer. It has been the best decision I could have made.

I am a member of American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography. Registered in OB/Gyn, Breast and certified in Nuchal Translucency
