“I was originally drawn by the excitement, joy and parental gratitude associated with delivering babies. My decision was solidified when I saw the wide range of services including surgery, infertility and office practice. The gratitude of my patients is still my biggest reward. I really enjoy being able to improve my patients’ quality of life with minimally invasive surgery, robotic surgery and outpatient surgery so that their recovery is much faster. I hope to give my patients the confidence that I am committed to providing the best care with understanding and compassion to reduce their risks and improve the quality of their lives.”

Anissa A Durairaj, MD, MSCP, FACOG

When I was a medical student, I was first drawn to obstetrics and gynecology because of the sheer exhilaration of delivering a baby. What has brought me ongoing joy over the 20 years of my career has been the lasting relationships I have been able to create with my patients. I have the privilege of taking care of women throughout their lifespans. I have been able to share my expertise and guidance during their teen years, their childbearing years and their menopausal years. Few other specialties are able to experience these types of long term relationships.

I incorporate the principles of lifestyle medicine into my patient visits focusing on sleep, stress management, exercise and diet as pillars of health. I have a special interest in promoting wellness, both physical and emotional.

I have a passion for learning. This allows me to continually improve the quality of care I provide to my patients. I try very hard to actively listen to what patients tell me. I know this has typically been a challenge in the field of medicine.

My personal interests include traveling and enjoying local cuisines. I also enjoy reading, listening to podcasts and cooking.

Lori Marshall, MD, FACOG

“ Practicing obstetrics and gynecology is my passion. It is such a diverse and exciting field of medicine and it is the most rewarding job I can imagine. After practicing for more than 10 years, I still believe my most important role as a doctor is to listen to my patients and focus on happiness and wellness. The best path to wellness is to combine healthy lifestyle practices and mindfulness with traditional therapies in partnership with patients. My hope is to provide a safe and compassionate environment in which patients feel cared for and respected. ”

“When I was a medical student fulfilling my rotation in Ob-Gyn, I was up late one night and the supervising resident let me deliver my first baby. That first delivery was such a rush of excitement and felt like a little miracle unfolding in my arms. At that moment, I knew I wanted to deliver babies for the rest of my life. “I have two sisters with whom I am very close. I have always treated my patients as I would want my sisters to be treated. Now that I have a daughter and witnessed her birth, I treat my patients as I would like her treated when she becomes a woman. Being a good doctor doesn’t just involve finding a medically sound resolution to your medical problem. It involves really listening to you and understanding your concerns and fears.”

"One of the biggest joys of my job is helping patients through their lifetime range of reproductive needs. Each morning I look at my schedule and am excited to see my patients, with whom I value such relationships. I thrive off of the next problem or endeavor that will take me deeper into my relationships with these women. Because of this, I believe my biggest asset as a physician is not only my knowledge and expertise in clinical and surgical women’s healthcare, but also my bedside manner. Medically, I have special interests in contraception, infertility, high-risk obstetric problems, abnormal uterine bleeding, and minimally invasive surgery including the Da Vinci robot. In my spare time, I enjoy cooking, traveling, live music, and spending time with my husband and two young sons."

Kendall Lewis, MD

I was initially drawn to the field of medicine because I desired a career that was challenging, always changing, and allowed me to serve others. During medical school, I was drawn to the excitement and fast-paced nature of the field of OBGYN. Between vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, and gynecologic surgeries- there really is never a dull moment. I knew I had found the right career path when I realized I could combine all of these things with the opportunity to connect with women in all phases of life- from adolescence to childbearing years and through menopause. While I do love learning, performing surgery, and delivery babies- my greatest fulfillment comes from the opportunity to develop relationships with patients. I have also always had a passion for living a well-balanced life, which includes both mental and physical health. I believe that small, daily habits can provide lasting effects on each of our health and am passionate about empowering women to live their happiest and healthiest lives! Women's health is multifactorial- my goal is to use all aspects of each patient's health to ensure the best solution. I hope that after each visit, each patient feels seen, heard, and that we are working together towards their goals. My outside hobbies include staying active through weight lifting and running, enjoying the outdoors, cooking, traveling, and exploring new restaurants.

“In some ways, we choose our careers. In other ways, our careers choose us. I grew up steeped in medicine: My stepfather is a pediatrician, my mother is a nurse practitioner and my sister is a nurse-midwife. I always wanted a career that allowed me to help people in an authentic and tangible way. When you find a profession that empowers you and those around you, it is exciting and compelling. What’s really exciting is when you can harness all the newest medical knowledge and deliver it to your patients in meaningful terms that impact their lives and well-being. Healthcare is more than procedures. It is demystifying medicine so that good health practices can be incorporated into real lives.”

Ashleigh M. Clark, APRN FNP-C

Ashleigh’s lifelong passion for helping others, coupled with her inherent caregiving abilities, guided her career choices; in fact, she told her mom at the age of three that she wanted to be a “baby nurse!”. She followed her dream and attended Mercer University’s Georgia Baptist College of Nursing, where she obtained her BSN in 2011. She began her healthcare career at Northside Hospital, the same hospital where she was born as a Nurse Extern in 2010. She applied and won the title of a Northside Scholar, making her one of the few recipients of a $10,000 academic scholarship from the hospital. Her childhood dream of becoming a baby nurse soon became a reality as she started working as a Registered Nurse for Northside Hospital’s Labor & Delivery Unit soon after finishing nursing school. She worked in L&D for over four years and her enthusiasm for women’s health, patient education, and advocacy began to flourish while at the bedside. Ashleigh realized she wanted to have an even more profound and lasting impact on the health outcomes of the families she cared for daily in Labor & Delivery and she decided to become a Nurse Practitioner with the goal of working for a women’s health practice.

She completed her Master of Science in Nursing from Mercer University, graduating Summa Cum Lade in 2014, and became a board-certified Nurse Practitioner. Before joining our practice, Ashleigh worked as an NP in internal medicine, family practice, and acute care settings. She found her way back home to women’s health and joined the Northside Northpoint OB-GYN team in 2020. She strongly believes in discovering a balance between traditional and holistic healthcare for her patients. She finds joy in caring for women of all walks of life, ages, and backgrounds. She teaches our “Understanding Childbirth” class and has a passion for improving her patients’ health through expanding their knowledge base. Ashleigh is blessed to have her own Northside babies, her boys Sebastian & Gavin. She loves watching her boys' baseball games, attending concerts, listening to podcasts, cooking, getting down at karaoke, organizing outings, and traveling the globe. Ashleigh is currently accepting new patients and looks forward to being an integral part of you and your family’s health and wellness journey.
